Swimming pool cleaning is not a fresh job, because people in the swimming process will leave dandruff, hair and other impurities, and the open-air swimming pool is prone to mud, leaves and other sediment, so the swimming pool often needs to clean about 2 times a month.

The production of swimming pool cleaning tools is clearly a promising industry, with about 30 million private swimming pools worldwide, up about 5 percent a year, with Europe and the United States accounting for nearly 90 percent. Pool & Hot Tub Alliance reports that there are 10.7 million swimming pools in the United States, equivalent to 33 people owning a swimming pool, and more importantly, 10.4 million of them are residential, or family-owned.

Another reality is that the labor cost in Europe and America is quite high. The average price of cleaning the swimming pool is more than $100, and the labor cost in North America is even as high as $300 per time. The high labor cost makes European and American families often overwhelmed.

As a result, the first pool robot was out 40 years ago. However, the number of players in the European and American swimming pool robot industry is small, and the market concentration is high. At present, the annual sales volume of swimming pool robots worldwide is about 2.4 million units, and the market is concentrated in the Dolphin, Polaris, BWT and Hayward brands, respectively from Israel, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Among them, Dolphin's parent company, Maytronics, has been listed. According to its Q32023 financial report, Maytronics's revenue in the first nine months of 2023 was around US$439.3 million .

The market for pool cleaning robots is expected to reach $2 billion by 2025. The high concentration makes the pool robot industry without breakthrough innovation in product functions in nearly 20 years, which leaves room for Chinese players with intelligent industry advantages to participate. According to data from Seller wizard, about 53 percent of the Top100  products on Amazon sold by related pool cleaning robots came from Chinese sellers.

However, the current penetration rate of pool cleaning robots is only 19%, and most users use primary products, which is the traditional cable machine, the remaining 81% of the cleaning methods still require a lot of human participation.
